A series of stuffed animal toys have been recalled in Canada because they pose a choking risk to children, the country’s national health department says. The affected products include elephant, giraffe, lion, tiger, and panda plush toys with attached smaller baby styles, the recall said. They can be identified by item number P273585 and UPC 8140239986.
The recall noted the toys were manufactured in China and were sold in Canada from May 2023 to December 2024. “Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that these plush toys do not meet the Toys Regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act,” the department said. “The hard plastic eyes can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
” As of Dec. 16, no incidents or injuries had been reported to the wholesaler, Health Canada said. In a similar fashion, these toys were recalled due to choking hazard and were made in China.
