Frustrated over Internet woes? You are likely not alone, if you live in Connecticut. A study by HostingAdvice , which looked at broadband accessibility in the U.S.

over the last four years, found that Connecticut is among the worst states in broadband growth. Just 4% more households in the Nutmeg state gained broadband access in the last four years, according to a study, equating to 97,511 households and putting Connecticut at 45th overall. Tolland County, in particular, was the worst performer in the state, with just a 3% increase.

Compare this number to states like Alabama, Kentucky and Louisiana, which each saw double the percentage of total broadband access gained, according to HostingAdvice . Arkansas topped the list with 9% growth statewide. Connecticut was not the only New England state, however, to round out the bottom of the list.

New Hampshire was ranked the worst state for broadband growth with only 3% more households receiving service. Vermont was not too far behind in 48th place with 4%, similar to Connecticut. “Broadband connectivity is not just a luxury- it’s a necessity for modern living,” said Christina Lewis of HostingAdvice.

“Our study highlights the progress being made in various states and counties, but it also underscores the ongoing need for investment in digital infrastructure to ensure all communities can thrive in our increasingly connected world.”.
