The 47-year-old was a rising comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005 when he met his future wife, Patricia. He says she was filming a documentary about the comedy festival at the time, which gave the pair time to bond.
Chris, who lost his sight having been born with a genetic condition called retinitis pigmentosa (RP), says the pair “had fun” while making the documentary. The pair now share 10-year-old daughter Sophie together. The West Derby-born star believes the couple are “very opposite” as he provides calmness to their relationship, while Brazilian Patricia brings “chaos”.
Speaking on Gyles Brandreth’s Rosebud podcast earlier this year, Chris said: “We spent a lot of time together when the camera wasn’t running, socialising, going out and doing things, and we just had a lot of fun. We were very opposite, she comes across as very British but she’s Brazilian, she came across when she was five or six. “Her life is chaos in the way that Brazilian people are chaos.
