Strictly Come Dancing is coming back for its 22nd series. The popular show attracted more than 8.8 million viewers in its last series finale when Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and professional dancer Vito Coppola won the competition.

Although ratings have dipped slightly year-on-year, the show has remained one of the most popular in the UK since it first launched, but the 22nd season comes amid bubbling controversies about on-set bullying behind the scenes. Fifteen former staff who worked on the show recently complain of a “toxic” work culture and bullying, mainly aimed at low-level production staff. Though most of the guilty parties were unnamed, blame was laid on several of the celebrities, producers, and dancers involved in the show.



Some former celebrity contestants, including Amanda Abbington, Zara McDermott and Laura Whitmore have made public complaints about their onset treatment. We don’t know everything just yet about the next series, like when exactly it’s set to hit the screen, but a lot of information about the show has already been leaked or publicly announced. When could Strictly be on this year? The BBC hasn’t provided an official date for when the new series will air.

However, based on past years, the show usually runs from September to December, although there have been a few seasons that started as late as October. The Terms and Conditions on BBC ticket giveaway confirm that filming for the launch show will start in September. It’s also very likely the show will retain its usual pattern of airing on a Saturday night on BBC One.

The airing of a special episode to commemorate the show’s 20th anniversary has been confirmed by the BBC. Who is in the cast of Strictly 2024? It’s expected that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkelman will reprise their roles as hosts on the show. The BBC also have not indicated any changes in the judging panel.

Chris McCausland Scottish-born Christopher McCausland shot to fame as a stand-up comedian and actor. He’s set to tour the UK later this year for his podcast Staying Relevant which he co-hosts with Sam Thompson.
