MUMBAI: A 52-year-old businessman residing in Matunga committed suicide by jumping from Atal Setu (MTHL) after parking his car on the bridge on Wednesday around 9 am. The incident occured at 14.5 kms distance in the jurisdiction of Nhava Sheva police in Navi Mumbai.

The businessman has been identified as Phillips Shah as the cops found his Aadhar card in his parked car. Anjum Bagwan, senior inspector of Nhava Sheva informed that the MTHL's CCTV control room at Mumbai recieved an alert after a Honda City car halted on Atal Setu. Immediately, they alerted the rescue team patrolling in the sea that rushed to the spot and fished out Shah, who was rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.



Inspector Bagwan said, "We contacted Shah's wife and informed her about her husband's demise. She told that her husband had left home at 8 am by telling that he was going to Navi Mumbai to attend a public function . Also, for past few days he was under mental stress , probably related to his business.
