This Independence Day, the box office is going to witness a clash between John Abraham and Sharvari ’s Vedaa , Akshay Kumar ’s Khel Khel Mein and Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao ’s Stree 2 . Amongst the three, trade is expecting Shraddha comedy horror film to take the lead and the advance booking for the film is exactly echoing the sentiments. The advance booking for the film opened a couple of days back and it has already earned Rs 1.

83 crore for its opening day’s shows, reports Sacnilk. The film has nearly 3700 shows and has sold over 52,000 tickets with still four days to go for the film’s release. Also given the strong buzz for the film from its trailer, songs and high recall value for the first part, Stree 2 is expected to sell at least 1,00,000 tickets more before the screening begins.



Given the horror genre of the film, the makers have decided to hold special preview shows on the eve of the release, that is on August 14, post 7:30 PM. Stree 2 is a sequel to 2018 blockbuster film Stree, directed by Amar Kaushik. The film also stars Aparshkati Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee.

According to reports, Akshay Kumar will play a cameo in the entertainer. The film is part of Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe which already has films like Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s Bhediya and Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and Sharvari’s Munjya. Very soon Vampires are also going to be added in the mix with The Vampires of Vijay Nagar starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna being in the pipeline.
