Edwin Tan /E+ via Getty Images STRATA Skin Sciences ( NASDAQ: SSKN ), a skincare medical device company, said on Monday it has filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court of Pennsylvania against LaserOptek, Monarch Aesthetic Services, and Pinnacle Health Group, citing unfair competition regarding the marketing and sales of competitive laser devices.

STRATA said that Korean company LaserOptek is the manufacturer of Pallas laser medical device and Monarch Laser Services is the exclusive distributor of Pallas lasers in the U.S. STRATA added that Pinnacle was engaged by LaserOptek for advisory services regarding marketing of the Pallas lasers.



STRATA in its complaint has alleged that the three companies have participated in false advertising and unfair competition in regards to marketing and sale of the Pallas lasers in the U.S. The company is seeking injunctive relief, actual damages, treble damages, disgorgement of profits, and reimbursement of legal costs from the three companies.
