Netflix sent Stranger Things fans into overdrive yesterday (Wednesday, November 6) when they released a teaser and the highly-anticipated release date announcement. The streaming platform wrote: "In the fall of 1987 one last adventure begins. STRANGER THINGS 5 coming 2025.
" The teaser was in typical Stranger Things fashion with the episode titles against the show's iconic red logo and its eerie theme music playing. Despite being ecstatic about the announcement, loyal fans had one important plea for Netflix as they flocked to the comments sections on Instagram and on Reddit . As of the past few years, Netflix has adopted a new strategy of splitting a series into parts and airing each drop of episodes every few months.
However, Stranger Things fans were insistent they didn't want to wait long for the episodes, especially since they've had to wait three years since the last instalment. Season four's first seven episodes were released on May 27, 2022, while the last two episodes aired on July 1, 2022. One fan pleaded in the Instagram comments section: "Please don't split the season again like last time.
" Another viewer sarcastically penned on Reddit : "I can't wait for Netflix to drip feed us episodes in multiple parts over the next year." Somebody else commented: "I would honestly rather have 1 episode a week, I absolutely hate this breaking up of seasons and waiting months in-between."
