STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One of Staten Island’s storybook-like parks will be undergoing major renovations come the new year, the Advance/SILive.
com has learned. Tottenville’s Aesop Park, located at the corner of Page Ave. and Bartow Ave, will be closing to the public and the students of P.
S. 6 in the spring of 2025 as construction begins. The reconstruction will take an estimated year to complete, Smith said.
The construction is expected to cost $5 million to $10 million, which will be provided by Borough President Vito Fossella and the City Council, according to the Parks Department website. Staten Island Capital Team Leader Adrian Smith describes the plan for Aesop Park as “the three P’s..

The iconic gates of the park depicting Aesop’s tales will remain, Smith said. The playground portion will encompass the middle section of the park with new play structures to entice children ages 2 to 5 and ages 5 to 12, Smith said. A play structure is pictured in Aesop Park next to P.
