STILL Game’s Jack and Victor are back - but this time in a brand new format. Fans were gutted when the beloved BBC sitcom came to an end in 2019. 5 Ford Keirnan and Greg Hemphill say they still talk about the characters 5 The pair are delighted to launch the show in a new format 5 The book is out later this month Creators Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, who star in the show as OAP besties Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade, penned an emotional series finale which aired five years ago and saw the characters fade out.

But now the pair have been working with a new team - and are releasing a comic book. The Craiglang legends will go from stage to page with the first edition - He Who Hingeth About Getteth Nothing - out next month. Greg said: “We still love Jack and Victor, and Ford and I are still always talking about them.

And that’s where Gordon and the Scunnered Ink team came.” Greg and comedy partner Ford Kiernan worked with Former DC Thomson Heritage editor Gordon Tait to recruit a team of cartoonists to re-imagine the BBC TV show’s misadventures on paper.

Ford said: “Greg and I are huge fans of things like Oor Wullie. “Greg has a Marvel connection and has always collected comics. “We have a long history in Scotland of waiting for Christmas to get an annual, then spending an hour on Christmas Day in a corner reading it. It’s an old fashioned idea in that respect, back to roots, and I love that about it. “We’re really happy with it.

” Ford and Greg wrote every episode of the BAFTA-winning show which ran for nine series and three sold-out multi-date live productions at Glasgow’s Hydro arena, playing to a total of 500,000 people. Co-starring the likes of Mark Cox as Tam Mullen, Sanjeev Kohli as Navid Harrid and Jane McCarry as Isa Drennan, fans were gutted when the final series was aired. Now they will get a chance to relive some of the moments in comic form.

Greg said: “There are things in the comics which the cartoonists have put in which didn’t exist either in our head or in the TV show. So there are loads of Easter eggs in there for readers.
