Ivy Ong-Wood To launch the Stella McCartney X B&B Italia Camaleonda, B&B Italia Hong Kong has placed the modular sofa in the homes of three local influencers. Designed by Mario Bellin, the sofa set has been adapted to meet the different needs: a linear sofa for actor-brother duo Bruce and Chris Tong's leisure time at home, a sectional sofa for socialite Tiffany Poon's tranquil family moment, or as a two-seater statement prop for content creator couple Samantha Wong and Victor Cheng. Given McCartney's ecofriendly ethos, the iconic sofa system has been covered in a brand-new fabric crafted from the design company's next-generation sustainability innovation, a cutting-edge magnolia printed fabric, on which the British designer's distinctive S-Wave monogram can be seen.
Available in three shades - Antique Pink, Pearl Grey or Ecru - the S-Wave upholstery delivers performance on a par with conventional materials while free from harmful substances. Bellini designed Camaleonda as a modular sofa system in 1970, a characteristic that not only grows with use, but also distinctive in shaping an era of interior design. Sprawled in a linear line, the seat modules reach 90x90 centimeters, with the backrest and armrest anchoring on top.
Equipped with tie-rods and rings, the seats, backrests and armrests can all be unhooked and recombined at will, prompting the luxury to move and redesign the home environment according to the needs of those using it. Camaleonda's modularity echoes Bellini's d.
