Scunthorpe actor Jake Quickenden stayed the course in the most recent heat of the BBC’s Celebrity Masterchef to go through to the semi-final. The singer and presenter joins Grimsby’s Rochenda Sandall in representing northern Lincolnshire in the popular cookery show. After winning through in the show’s quarter-final last night (Friday, August 30), Jake said: “I don’t know what’s just happened.

I honestly can’t believe it. It’s been hard; I only imagine it’s going to get harder, but I’m ready, let’s do it.” Jake needed to impress with a two-course dinner party feast for diners, 2021 semi-finalist Su Pollard, 2019 finalist Vicky Pattison and 2017 champion Angellica Bell.
