Monday, October 7, 2024 St. Maarten Embraces a New Era of Travel Starting October 8 with Princess Juliana Airport’s Innovative Digital Entry and Border System. Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic, and Telecommunication (TEATT), is set to introduce a cutting-edge automated border control system.
This new system, launching with a digital entry form on October 8th, 2024, will streamline the travel process by allowing passengers to pre-complete necessary entry documentation online at entry.sx before check-in. As the system evolves, biometric features will be incorporated to facilitate smoother and more secure passenger processing.
This system is part of PJIAE’s comprehensive reconstruction initiative, which includes a fully renovated airport designed to elevate the travel experience with enhanced security and efficiency. Future phases will see the implementation of Advanced Passenger Information Systems and Passenger Name Record Systems, which will bolster risk management conducted by the Immigration and Border Protection Service. Compliance with GDPR and other data privacy standards ensures that travelers’ personal information remains secure, with plans to extend the system to accommodate general aviation arrivals as well.
PJIAE, alongside the Ministries of Justice and TEATT, will harness the advanced data collection capabilities of this system to improve operat.
