A 26ft Christmas tree will add some festive magic to a square in the city. Members of Brunswick Town Association have invited residents to join them tomorrow for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at the floral clock in Palmeira Square, Hove. A premium sustainably grown Nordman Fir has been provided by Christmas tree suppliers Good Elf.
The event will start at 4pm at St John the Baptist Church, where children from Brunswick Primary School Choir will sing Christmas songs. The group will then move to Palmeira Square where Brighton and Hove mayor, Councillor Mohammed Asaduzzaman, will start the countdown to switch on the Christmas tree lights. “I’d encourage residents to brave the chilly weather, wrap up warm and join us for the celebrations on Friday.” Following the switch-on, there will be a chance to climb aboard Brighton and Hove Buses’s Santa Bus, which will be parked at the square from 4.30pm.
