Some may have already got their grades via text or email if they created an online MYSQA account earlier this summer while others will be waiting for their grades to be posted to them on Tuesday, August 6.

Regardless of whether or not you signed up for the online results which will be sent to candidates from 8am onwards, everyone will receive a physical copy of their grades through the door. For those of who have already received their results and are pleased with their grades - congratulations! However, not everyone may be feeling satisfied with their marks and if you are feeling this way, don't panic! Here's what you can do if you did not receive the exam marks you hoped for. If you are not satisfied with your results and believing the grading isn't fair, you may be able to appeal the exam board's decision.

It's worthwhile to talk to someone who knows your work best such as a teacher or parent but the final decision to appeal lies in the hands of the student. Your marks can either go up or down if you appeal so it's important you make a well informed decision before going ahead with it. Appeals can be directly submitted to the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) or you can ask your teacher to submit an appeal to the SQA for you.

The appeals service is free and will be open from 9am on results day (August 6). You can find more information about this year’s appeal process for learners, including the appeals deadlines, on the SQA website . If you are feeling disappointed with the grades you achieved or you simply don't know what you want to do next, you can contact Skills Development Scotland’s Results Helpline.

Advisors will be available on the SDS Results Helpline to offer free, impartial advice on anything to do with your results and your future. SDS advisors can provide you with information on your options and next steps, such as course vacancies at UK colleges or Modern, Foundation and Graduate Apprenticeships. The helpline which went live at 8am this morning can be contacted on 0808 100 8000.

Opening hours are: Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 August: 8am – 8pm Thursday 8 and Friday 9 August: 9am – 5pm If your postman has come and gone and there is still no sign of your exam results , don't panic! Contact your school or college and they will be able to assist you further. If you believe there is anything missing or wrong with your certificate, you can contact the SQA Candidate Advice Line on 0345 279 1000.
