Fascinating photographs unseen for years capture moments through time of Liverpool taxi drivers, cabs, customers and more. A lot has changed for our city's taxi drivers through time, from the cars they drive to how customers can pay for trips and more. But these images, taken decades ago, are bound to stir some memories of what life was like in Liverpool in years gone by.

And you may also spot a familiar face. Courtesy of our archives, Mirrorpix, these photos have recently been rediscovered and show a number of our local taxi drivers, as well as events they were part of and how firms operated at different moments in time. Our earliest photos come from the 1950s and show workers behind the scenes, as well as Liverpool's Hackney Carriage Department.
