Another season of racing at the Redwood Acres Raceway came to a close in Eureka on Saturday with the Steve Taylor Memorial Fall Spectacular in which Terry Pittman and Sierra Furia captured series championships. The Redwood Acres Raceway season began in May, with both Pittman and Furia winning the feature races in the season-opening event, four months later both Pittman and Furia held their position to earn the Upstate series title. Pittman and Furia both got feature race victories on Saturday, clinching the season-long title in winning fashion, but Redwood Acres Raceway had a full night of racing in addition to the two Upstate title winners, with Late Models, Legends, Mini Stocks and even the Hook ‘Em And Sling Boat Race Of Destruction to wrap up the evening.

Jerry Peterson of Blocksburg won the Late Model feature, with Dennis DelBiaggio of Fortuna finishing in second place and Romeo Venza of Eureka taking third. Landen Green out of Eureka won the Legends feature race, cruising to a comfortable win over Fortuna’s Chris Lawrence. Jarrett Mayo out of McKinleyville won the Mini Stocks feature in an All-Humboldt County top-three with Cole Peterson of Blocksburg and Gary Klinetobe of Fortuna finishing second and third.



McKinleyville’s Daniel Smith secured the win in the boat racing contest, with Marcus Finney of Eureka finishing in second. The Upstate Bombers series championship was still up for grabs heading into Saturday’s race with Pittman holding a slight three-point e.
