The Operations mode in Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 is already suffering at the hands of speedrunners. Casual players of the cinematic six-mission co-op mode are finding themselves unable to enjoy the game’s multiplayer story due to other players rushing through content to quickly gain XP. Space Marine 2 Operations While the new Warhammer game has seen complaints due to its unbalanced Assault class and a lack of FoV slider , the latest complaint focuses on its players.

Multiple posts on the game’s subreddit complain about the rise of speedrunning grinders rushing through the game’s co-op mode to rapidly unlock cosmetics and weapons. “At this point I’m just wondering why you even play, given that you seem to have zero interest in actually playing the game,” one player ranted on Reddit. “ You speedrun from point A to point B, you ignore basically every enemy.

Just half an hour ago I had a heavy chilling at the Elevator, leaving me and an assault dealing with a Neurothrope.” While some players simply wish to enjoy the content that Saber Interactive has created, others are running through and pinging elevators while others attempt to fight the Tyrannid scum. Instead of fighting as the Omnissiah wills, these players are no better than deserters betraying The Emperor.

“They need to rush to unlock everything so they can complain about having nothing to do and blame the devs. You know, modern gamer stuff,” one player joked. Punishing rushers? In response to the rising issue of rushers in Space Marine 2, some players have even called for punishments for those who leave their crew behind.

Whether in the form of XP reduction of debuffs, players want those rushing through the Operations alone to face some form of penalty. “I wish there was a way to punish splitting off the group,” a player said. “In Left 4 Dead if you did that you’d get stun locked and killed by an elite.

” For now, the punishment for Space Marine 2 speedrunners is simply waiting. Hilariously, those speeding through the game in public lobbies end up making Operations last longer as they refuse to help their crew fight bosses and waves of enemies. Instead, they’re simply waiting for minutes at a time for their allies to fight.

That doesn’t sound very fun. For more coverage of the awesome Warhammer game, check out our review right here . You can also see why Chaos customisation is restricted in the game, and, yes, it’s the reason you expect.
