As a vital trade association, LTA is instrumental in enhancing Louisiana’s tourism sector through advocacy, education, and promotion. Tourism serves as a key economic driver for the state.
According to MMGY Global, Louisiana welcomed 43 million domestic and international visitors in 2023, reflecting an increase of 420,000 compared to 2022. These visitors contributed a total of $18.1 billion in spending in 2023, marking a 5.
4 percent rise from the previous year. Furthermore, visitor expenditures generated $1.9 billion in state and local taxes, effectively saving each household in Louisiana $1,098 annually in taxes required to sustain current services.
Acknowledging the significance of investing in educational initiatives, LTA has decided to support the Southeastern College of Business to raise awareness about career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sectors..
