(Yonhap) SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – In response to ongoing suspicions surrounding the fairness of South Korea’s national lottery, Donghang Lottery hosted a live broadcast of the Lotto 6/45 draw on November 23 to enhance transparency and public trust.

The event, dubbed the “2024 Lottery Day,” was held at the MBC headquarters in Seoul’s Sangam district, featuring public participation and a behind-the-scenes look at the draw process. This marks the second year that the lottery draw has been conducted before a live audience. Last year’s event, the first of its kind, saw an attendance competition ratio of 11.



4 to 1, and this year’s event attracted over 1,000 applicants for just 100 public viewing slots. The event gained additional attention with the appearance of Olympic shooting star Kim Ye-ji, who served as the ceremonial “Golden Hand” to activate the lottery machine. The program’s first segment included a science-themed talk show titled “The Science Behind Lottery Wins,” featuring popular science communicator Gwe Do and neuroscientist Professor Jang Dong-seon.

The discussion delved into the probabilities of lottery draws, the cognitive patterns behind number selection, and related scientific phenomena. In the second segment, 100 attendees observed and participated in the live draw proce.
