Ben Schwartz returns to voice the beloved title character from 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog and 2022's Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Colleen O'Shaughnessey returns to voice Tails and Idris Elba is also back to voice Knuckles in the highly-anticipated sequel. They must all team up to face the nefarious Shadow - a new villainous character voiced by Keanu Reeves . Paramount has already set a December 20 release date, putting it up against Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King.

'Dude, I'm standing right here,' Sonic says, as Shadow finally speaks, saying, 'You're a colorful bunch.' Sonic insists, 'We don't want to fight you,' but Knuckles chimes in and says, 'Actually, Sonic, I would like to fight.' Knuckles dashes towards Shadow but he easily takes care of him, along with Sonic and Tails as well.
The trailer shows more of Shadow's destruction as Sonic admits, 'He's too powerful,' adding, 'I can't believe I'm saying this...
but we need you know who,' referring to his old enemy, Doctor Robotnik (Jim Carrey). The doc has let himself go a bit, as the heroic trio comes across him overweight and disheveled with Agent Stone (Lee Majdoub) still at his side. Sonic says they need his help and he agrees, as Stone cleans him up while Robotnik says, 'If I can't rule the world, I might as well save it.
' Shadow says, 'When we're done, there won't be anything left,' as Sonic confronts Shadow and ask what he did, as Shadow says, 'What I had to.' The trailer winds down with a shot of Sonic and Shadow on a collision course, with the final shot showing Dr. Robotnik meeting his own father.
