Sonam Kapoor who was away from the world of lights, camera, action for a few years, opened up about how she is being offered for 20-somethings . During her conversation with The Dirty Magazine , Sonam expressed her surprise at the roles she is being offered, which are still those of a 20-something. She recently received an offer to play a girl whose parents want her to get married, and questioned if the filmmakers were sure about casting her in such a role, finding it nonsensical.
The 39-year-od actress revealed that another offer was for a girl in school who becomes a sportsperson . Initially, she thought the role would be split between a younger actor and herself, but the filmmakers wanted her for both parts, assuring her they could make it work. Sonam declined, explaining that she does not want to be digitally de-aged, finding the idea unappealing.
The actress gave referenced her much-younger cousins, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, saying that while she doesn't look as young as them, she is grateful that people perceive her as someone who hasn't aged much, even after having a child. She speculated that this might be because her child, Vayu, hasn't been in the public eye, and she intends to keep it that way. For the unversed, Sonam and Anand Ahuja welcomed their son Vayu in 2022.
