Bollywood sweethearts Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are known as the foodies of the celeb world. After getting married in June, the couple enjoyed a beautiful honeymoon in the Phillippines and used the trip to enjoy all sorts of local food. As travelling companions, their styles perfectly complement each other as they both prefer to eat local street food over fine dining and often seek out recommendations from locals to find out what the best meals around would be.
Both have also spoken enthusiastically about their love for street food of all sorts although Indian food is always their go-to with Sonakshi Sinha inevitably enjoying at least one desi dish on any vacation they go on. As adventurous eaters, they’ve tried many things around India and the world, but like anyone, they have some favourites. Here are a few places and dishes they have enjoyed on their travels.
New York Food Carts As foodies, they prefer to enjoy local fare rather than relying on fine dining. While on a trip to New York, instead of visiting an award-winning Japanese restaurant Zaheer instead chose to sample fare from the local street food carts and found that mushroom rice was his favourite. Schezwan CravingsFor Sonakshi, her college days hold special food memories.
She was known to devour two big bowls of Schezwan Noodles at the SNDT Canteen in Mumbai, and the cheese schezwan dosas outside her college were among her favourites. She’s also a big fan of vada pav and pav bhaji, two city staples. Tres.
