After recently appointing Rusmir Cviko to replace Josef Zinnbauer, Raja Club Athletic are reportedly close to making another major managerial decision. Last season, the Green Eagles enjoyed a monumental campaign in Moroccan football. Under the tutelage of former Orlando Pirates manager Zinnbauer, Raja went the entire league season without suffering defeat as they became the first club in Botola Pro Inwi history to finish a campaign in "invincible" fashion.

These accomplishments ultimately led to the Schwandorf native gaining a lot of attention, and despite winning the league and Moroccan Throne Cup without losing a game, the German tactician decided to call time on his career in Casablanca and sign for Al Wehda in Saudi Arabia. To replace him, Raja initially wanted TS Galaxy's Sead Ramovic, but that mooted appointment never came to fruition. They ended up hiring Cviko as their manager instead, and while Zinnbauer went the entire 2023/24 without tasting defeat, the Bosnian has already lost his first two league matches with Raja.

Their 3-1 defeat to Ittihad Tanger has reportedly proved to be somewhat of a turning point for the club's executives because, according to , they are now strongly considering parting ways with the 52-year-old. Cviko's first defeat in the league this season came at the hands of RS Berkane, to whom they lost 1-0, but Cviko was able to alleviate concerns that might have arisen as a consequence of that result by leading the team to successful qualification.
