Former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City left-back Marc van Heerden has announced his retirement from professional football. Van Heerden was on the books of the Citizens last season, where he made 28 appearances across all competitions. The full-back has now decided to hang up his boots at the age of 36, having represented AmaZulu, Pirates, Stellenbosch, Chippa United and City.
