At the D23 Expo Fan event, the studio confirmed many big releases for the coming year. While fans were excited to see the return of The Incredibles , others were ecstatic to see the first look at live action Stitch . However, the public reception of their most anticipated and most controversial live-action Snow White didn't go down well.

From the casting- lack of it, the CGI, to the costumes, the film continues to be dragged down by fans. The first teaser trailer has given a closer look into the world of Snow White and the Evil Queen. It begins with a glimpse of the cottage of the seven dwarfs, not so well kept but cozy in the middle of the forest.

Led by CGI deers and bunnies, Snow walks into the house while the dwarfs are also on their way back. On the other hand, her old life in the castle is also revealed. Snow is banished into the woods by her jealous Evil Queen with huntsmen ready to kill her.

We also got to see the mirror only for a few seconds, as Lucille La Verne says the iconic dialogue, 'Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all?' Gal Gadot can be seen in a classic black gown imitating the one seen in the Disney animated film. Similarly, Rachel's Snow is also seen in the typical yellow and blue dress which doesn't match the same effortless elegance as the Disney princess. Disney may be working on bringing realism to costumes and their treatment in the film but they also contradicted themselves with heavy CGI, where half of the cast is missing, even from the title.

The film is supposed to depict the story of Snow White and the seven dwarfs against the evil queen. Here the dwarves won't be seen playing that big of a part as they have also been removed from the title of the film. The name is Snow White.

She's called such, for being the fairest of them all Modern Disney: "Let's cast a brown, making her less fair than the evil witch who wants her dead, for having fairer skin." I hate them. I hate them all.

Disney would've done itself a favor if it just kept in on the shelf and simply never brought it out. Just left it out overnight so the raccoons or panhandlers took it away, never to be seen again. https://t.

The teaser features Rachel Zelger's Snow White along with seven CGI dwarfs running around her and each other as she sings 'So..

whistle while you work...

' The entire film is expected to be CGI-heavy, from the sets to the effects of the costumes, as well as many characters in the story. While the bunnies and deers still look good and life-like, the dwarfs are clearly animated especially when standing next to an actual person. Many fans took to their social media to call out the filmmakers for removing the casting chance for LP actors.

LP actor, Peter Dinklage also commented about the same during his appearance on Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast. He said, “Literally no offense to anything, but I was sort of taken aback. They were very proud to cast a Latino actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

’ Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way, but you’re still making that *&$*(@# backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together.

Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.” As a fan of the Original 1937 classic, I really don't know what to think of this? https://t.co/ouPot7VBSo — Jesse_Eccles 🎥🎞🎬🧩🎙👂🎧💖 (@JesterFilmLover) August 10, 2024 Why are the dwarfs CGI? Hire real actors who need work; actors struggling to find parts.

Peter Dinklage made one comment—and TBH, who cares; he’s one guy with one opinion—this is a live action Snow White. It’s not an animated film. It’s not Roger Rabbit.

Hire real actors. https://t.co/tY9RWyYS4H — Art Tavana (@arttavana) August 11, 2024 I can tell I’m going to have to physically look away if I ever end up catching the Snow White trailer in theaters.

Even from what little I’ve seen, those CGI dwarves are the stuff of nightmares. They are actively painful to look at.— Myles Hughes (@MylesOnFilm) August 10, 2024 I wanna know their story.

.. the "dwarves" spotted on the Snow White set.

I think the "official" word was they were stand ins and dinsey always intended to cgi them but...

idk. They look like actors with a lot of work put into their costumes and Hair. Feel bad for them if so.

pic.twitter.com/AzcFkFc3SS — Hamish Steele is @ FLAMECON (@hamishsteele) August 11, 2024 According to reports, the studio has hired actors to play the role alongside Rachel on the sets but would replace them in the post-production.

Fans have been asking to see the raw version with the actual actors. Some fans have also complained about the costume choice of Rachel's yellow dress. While one said, it looks cheap another said the aura in the trailer does not match the original animated characters or the other adaptations of the story.

Shaving pictures from different versions of the film, fans called out the lack of creativity in the live action. One user also claimed that, without CGI the live-action is more likely to look like a low-budget cruise stage play than a big budget film. Snow White is played by Rachel Ziegler (Colombian) and they gave her the cheapest looking dress and wardrobe i’ve seen fan art prettier than that bottom skirt pic.

I really think this movie would have been a good chance to bring back this dreamy elaborate aesthetic everyone has been mentioning lately. pic.
