Ahmedabad: A 30-year-old man from Gandhinagar on Sunday filed a complaint with Airport police alleging that his acquaintance attacked him with a brick after he told the latter’s mother about his smoking habit. Jayesh Sharma, a resident of Balaji Aghora Residency behind Aghora Mall in Gandhinagar, said in his FIR that he went to meet his mother in Sardarnagar on Saturday night. While he was talking to his friend Ayush Jeswani, Arjun Morandani, an acquaintance, arrived and asked for a match to light a cigarette.

After finishing, he carelessly tossed the butt into the parking lot. A while later, Ayush’s uncle Umesh Jeswani came over and spotted the cigarette butt in the parking lot. He asked Ayush if he smoked.

Sharma intervened and informed him that it was not Ayush, but Arjun who had smoked. Later, Sharma went to Ayush’s house where he happened to meet Arjun’s mother. He confided in her about Arjun’s smoking habit and mentioned seeing him smoking just hours ago.

Sharma then went to Sardarnagar vegetable market where Arjun turned up and began abusing him for snitching on him to his mother. Sharma alleged that Arjun hit him on his head with a brick. As Sharma began bleeding profusely, he was rushed to a private hospital where a medico-legal case was filed.

Airport police registered a complaint of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and using abusive words against Arjun.
