A SEASIDE town in Wales has been dubbed one of the country's best-kept secrets. They wrote: "Hidden at the top of North Wales, Rhyl feels like one of the country’s best-kept secrets. "Rhyl East Beach offers traditional seaside town vibes in the summer times, thanks to miles of sandy shores." Stretching for nearly two miles from the Clwyd Estuary to Splash Point, Rhyl Beach is one of the town's top attractions.

Rhyl Beach is backed by a string of amusement arcades that line the promenade as well as a large aquarium called SeaQuarium.

Inside the UK seaside town home to the country's longest beach and its biggest ice creams There's also the Sun Centre, which is an all-weather indoor centre with surfing, water slides and flumes. The indoor pool is perfect for paddling but there are also plenty of attractions for thrill-seekers, including a series of water slides. One of the water slides is The Boomerang, a rubber ring ride where visitors are launched down a slide.

There's also the Anaconda, the fastest flume in the park where park-goers speed down the ride in complete darkness before coming out of the slide through a snake's jaw. For younger visitors, there's also Piranha Play, a large play area with water toys and smaller slides. The Sun Centre has been closed to the public since the start of the new year because of extensive damage to the roof.

It's proper Welsh seaside fun Despite being closed to the public, the waterpark hopes to reopen to the public soon. Other attractions in Rhyl include the Rhyl Miniature Railway , which is said to be the oldest miniature railway in Britain. The tiny train has been delighting passengers since the start of the 20th century.

Overnight stays in Rhyl are relatively affordable, with prices starting from £100 per night for a caravan. Rhyl is a 50-minute drive from Chester, and it's a 55-minute drive from Wrexham .
