Akshay Kumar ’s Sky Force One of the most anticipated films of 2025 is Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, a project that has generated buzz since its announcement. Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force is an action-packed aerial war drama based on true events from India’s military history. Akshay, known for his versatility and penchant for patriotic roles, is playing an Air Force officer in the film.

Initially slated for an October 2024 release, the film was postponed to early 2025 due to post-production work . The film is tentatively releasing on Republic Day. 2.

Sunny Deol ’s Lahore 1947 Sunny Deol, riding high on the success of Gadar 2, is set to take on another historical drama with Lahore 1947. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, this film is based on the famous play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya O Jamyai Nai written by Asghar Wajahat. THe film is backed by Aamir Khan, and stars Preity Zinta and Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol, along with Shabana Azm in lead roles.

The film is releasing on Republic Day, presumably clashing with Sky Force. The film also brings about Sunny and Santoshi after two decades, talking their relationship Santoshi exclusively told to ETimes, "Sunny and I have always shared a deep mutual respect and a strong desire to collaborate on films. Our director-actor bond is truly unique.

I began my journey as a director with him on Ghayal, and since then, we've had an incredible partnership. We've worked together on Ghatak, Daamini, and now, with Lahore 1947, we're coming full circle. I'm thrilled to reunite with him and eager for the audience to experience our latest creation.

I hope they will shower us with the same love and appreciation they have in the past. 3. Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s next Aamir Khan’s son Junaid is set to make his theatrical debut in 2025, along with Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor, in the Hindi remake of 2022 Tamil film remake.

The film is being directed by Advait Chandan, who last directed Aamir Khan in Laal Singh Chaddha. The romantic film will be releasing on 7th February, to cash in on the Valentine Day spirit. This will be the second film for both lead actors, Junaid’s first film Maharaj was released on Netflix, and so was Khushi’s 'The Archies'.

4. Ajay Devgn ’s Raid 2 Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, the sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, was originally scheduled for a 2024 release, but has now been pushed to 2025. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film continues the story of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, played by Devgn, and his battle against corrupt politicians and tax evaders.

The first Raid was a critical and commercial success, praised for its taut storytelling and gripping performances. In Raid 2, Ajay Devgn will have company of Vaani Kapoor, along with Riteish Deshmukh and Saurabh Shukla, playing antagonists in the film, which will hit theatres on 21st February. 5 .

Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB 3 Another big film slated for 2025 is Jolly LLB 3, which sees Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi stepping into the role of Jolly once again for the popular courtroom drama series. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, this film continues the legal battles of the lovable lawyer Jolly. The Jolly LLB series is known for blending humor with social commentary, and Jolly LLB 3 is expected to take on contemporary issues, offering a witty yet hard-hitting narrative.

The film will be released on 10th April. 5. Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Varun Dhawan and director Shashank Khaitan are teaming up for their third film together after the success of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Along with Varun, the film stars Janhvi Kapoor , Manish Paul, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf and Akshay Oberoi. The Varun-Shashank duo has a proven track record of delivering heartwarming stories with mass appeal. Their previous collaborations were box office hits, and fans are expecting nothing less from their third outing together.

The film is slated to release on 18th April. 6. De De Pyaar De 2 Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh will be taking their love story ahead with the second installment of 2019 hit De De Pyaar De.

The latest addition to the franchise is R Madhavan, who will be playing Rakul’s father in the film, who is close in age (or even younger) to his future son-in-law! (played by Ajay) Kartik Aaryan is touted to play an extended cameo in the film, expected to release on 1st May 2025. 7. War 2 The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, this one is one of the biggest films of 2025, bringing together two powerhouses of Indian cinema—Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 promises to be a high-octane action thriller that raises the stakes from the first film. Hrithik’s portrayal of Kabir, an Indian soldier, who turned rogue, was widely praised, and fans are eager to see him return to the role. What makes War 2 even more exciting is the addition of NTR Jr.
