Six men and a juvenile were yesterday remanded in custody charged over a violent attack on a woman at an apartment in Dublin’s north inner city. The accused are all charged with assault causing harm and false imprisonment of a woman who was allegedly held against her will and tortured for over an hour. The alleged victim remains in hospital where she is recovering from injuries including multiple broken bones, burn marks, lacerations, stab wounds and scalp injuries.

Judge Patricia McNamara was told gardai arrived at an apartment in Henrietta House on Bolton Street to target a suspected drugs gang around 7pm on Thursday.
Arresting officers described how they came across a “chaotic incident” in the apartment where they found a woman with severe injuries. They said she had been severely beaten, scalded, stabbed and her hair pulled out in the prolonged assault. She remains in a serious condition in hospital after undergoing surgery,.
