It’s the season of vibrant colours in the trees, leaves crunching under foot and the warm glow of fading sunlight. Autumn is one of the best times of year for experiencing woodland and nature and taking it back to basics. Teesside has many beautiful parks and gardens with established trees that are perfect for a relaxing stroll with family, friends, the dog, or even alone.

There are now dedicated walking and cycling hubs in Hartlepool , Darlington , Stockton , Middlesbrough and Redcar , which offer regular led walks and bike rides, with information on suggested routes, whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll, a more challenging day out or advice on traffic-free paths as part of your commute to work or study. They've been collated by the walking, wheeling and cycling charity Sustrans, at the Tees Valley Walking and Cycling Hubs. Here are some of the team’s favourite walks, compiled from local council resources: The Tees Valley Walking and Cycling hubs are run by the walking, wheeling and cycling charity Sustrans, and funded by Tees Valley Combined Authority.
