Friday, November 15, 2024 SiteMinder, a global leader in hotel distribution and revenue management, has unveiled its latest findings in the “SiteMinder’s Changing Traveller Report 2025,” which highlights the rise of the ‘everything traveller.’ This new breed of traveller combines elements of both trending and traditional travel plans, presenting a complex profile for the hospitality industry. The report, the largest of its kind, involves consumer research on accommodation preferences across the globe.
The comprehensive study surveyed over 12,000 individuals across major tourism markets such as the U.S., China, Spain, Thailand, and Australia.
It identifies a discerning traveller who is open to using AI during their stay but is reluctant to let technology handle all aspects of hotel operations. For instance, while a substantial 78% of respondents are interested in interacting with AI at some stage of their stay, only 12% are comfortable with AI running the entire hotel experience. The report further delves into travel intentions for 2025, noting a shift from exclusive international travel to a balance between domestic and overseas adventures.
