Two of the top goaltenders in the USHL clashed Thursday at the Ice Box. But it was Samuel Urban and the Sioux City Musketeers that came out on top over the Lincoln Stars in 5-2 fashion. The Musketeers scored three times on its first 11 shots on Yan Shostak and Lincoln went to the bench for William Prowse in the middle frame.

“We got out goalie'd,” Lincoln head coach Rocky Russo said. “Their goaltender played fantastic and we gave one up in the first five minutes of the game. We weren't ready to play.



” Sioux City scored 5 minutes, 26 seconds into the first period for a 1-0 lead. But after a rookie lap and Bruno Idzan's first game, the Zagreb, Croatia native evened the score with his first tally. Idzan finished the night with a goal and an assist.

“Good hockey player (and) plays really hard,” Russo said. “He had four or five shots on net in the first period. He'll just keep getting better.

” After Daniel Shlaine gave Lincoln a brief 2-1 lead in the second period, it was all Sioux City for the next 30 minutes of play. Trey Jefferis tied the game and gave the Musketeers the eventual game winner with back-to-back goals, including a pivotal short-handed tally that got Sioux City right back into the game. It resulted in Lincoln's third consecutive loss.
