Trough Farm Shop opened its doors for the first time on Sunday, September 22. The concept of a farm shop housed within a pig ark-shaped building, embodies Silchester Farm's commitment to creativity and sustainability. Alastair Winsey from Silchester Farm said "Designing and bringing this unique idea to life posed its challenges, but the outcome has been immensely rewarding.

"It’s a playful nod to our agricultural roots and a conversation starter for our visitors, creating a memorable and unique backdrop that enhances guest experience while supporting local producers. What is there not to love?" Primarily the farm operates as an events venue but the developers also look to give buildings around the farm a new lease of life. Amie Haynes, 37, director of sales said that they wanted to create something that would be accessible to the public all the time.

"Because we have accommodation that is also open, it is seen like a bit of a retreat. With the new addition of the farm shop people can come and buy the bits and pieces that they need," Ms Haynes said. The farm shop will be selling lots of different produce such as little things to eat and drink as well as a selection of gifts.

Ms Haynes continued: "We have a bit of everything really. we will be selling freshly baked stuff from our kitchen. "There will be everything from bread, cakes, pastries to local cheeses.

We also have our own in-house gin and we also have our own in-house brewery." Ms Haynes went on to say that everything.
