Sunday, August 4, 2024 The National Civil Aviation Flight Staff Union (SNPVAC) announced today that easyJet has preemptively canceled more than half of its scheduled flights during the upcoming cabin crew strike, set to take place from August 15th to 17th. This decision follows a vote at a general meeting where an overwhelming 99% of members supported the strike, expressing frustration over unresolved labor issues such as staff shortages and increased working hours. SNPVAC called for the three-day strike after multiple attempts to address these concerns with easyJet failed to bring about any resolution.

The union criticized the company for not taking adequate steps to improve working conditions, prompting the workforce to take collective action in order to push for necessary changes. The strike is scheduled to begin at 12:01 AM on August 15th and will continue until 11:59 PM on August 17th. It will affect all easyJet flights and any other services connected to cabin crew operations within Portugal, signaling significant disruption to travel plans during this period.
