Prayagraj : With the objective to ensure that devotees do not meander aimlessly to reach the Sangam area and Maha Kumbh, they will be guided by sign boards in languages that these devotees can easily comprehend. For this, PWD has submitted a proposal worth Rs 8 crore to the govt for installing signages across the city and highways. The department is tasked with installing the maximum number of signages for the fair.

The plan is to install signages in the five most widely spoken languages in the country, which include Hindi, English, Tamil, Kannada, and Bengali. These are languages that any devotee hailing from any part of the country will be able to understand. The remarkable feature is that the signages will be visible even in the dark.

The department is devising a plan to commence installing signage first at Bamrauli Airport and its surrounding areas. Additionally, it will be installed at major intersections. If the departmental officials are to be believed, the influx of devotees will begin here from mid-December.

Consequently, the work of installing signage in the fair area will be completed prior to their arrival. A proposal of Rs 8 crore has been drafted and forwarded to the govt for installing signage in five languages. The work will commence once the proposal receives approval from the headquarters, said Chief Engineer PWD, AK Dwivedi.
