SHREVEPORT, La. - Buckle up! The Shreveport Police Department will be conducting a seatbelt checkpoint on Tuesday between 2 p.m.

8 p.m. The checkpoint will be centrally located within the city.

The primary focus of this checkpoint is to identify and address drivers who are not wearing their seatbelt. However, enforcement will not be limited to seatbelt violations alone. This initiative is part of the department's ongoing efforts to reduce the number of deaths and severe injuries resulting from crashes involving unrestrained motorists.

This operation is funded by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission's highway safety grant, which supports efforts to improve road safety across the state..
