Shouts of radiant love and congratulatory blessings on their 42nd wedding anniversary to two Dow Chemical retirees, faithful church stewards and a very devoted and dedicated couple whose lives are motivated and propelled by the word of God, Joel Scott and JoAnn Thomas Scott. Joel and JoAnn are instruments of praise, and gifts of honor at the Zion Temple AME Church, and Pastor Mark Jackson is the divine messenger of God’s gift of salvation. It is often said marriages are like fingerprints, in that each is unique as well as beautiful.

Your marriage has lasted for over four decades, signifying that the greatest marriages are built upon teamwork, mutual respect, a healthy dose of admiration and a never-ending cup of love and grace. The difference between “An Ordinary Marriage,” and an “Extra Ordinary Marriage,” is in giving just a little “Extra” every day, as often as possible, for as long as you both shall live. Our fervent petition is that God’s grace will continue to empower you to live abundantly, to pray powerfully, and to walk courageously through life.

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22 n n n Shouts of supreme love and applauding blessings on their 38th wedding anniversary to a retired postal worker and accountant, community and political activist, historian, youth mentors, Sunday School teacher and a sweet psalmist and couple whose hearts are filled with praise and thanksgiving to God, Deacon Robert Williams and Jeanetta Higgins Williams. The dedicated couple are triumphant members of the St.

Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and Pastor L.C. Dews is the senior shepherd of the proclamation of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

Marriage is more than finding the right person, it is being the right person, and you have spent 38 beautiful years caring for each other, respecting each other and showing each other that you hold them as high as the stars. Our prayer is that you will continue to be ambassadors for the Most High God, and that He will anoint your words, appoint your everyday moments, because He has positioned you right where you are, for such a time as this. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.

” Ephesians 5:31 n n n Shouts of majestic love and commanding blessings to the renowned president and CEO of Brazoria County Head Start, Jacqueline Mercer; the remarkable vice president of programs operations, Larry Griggs; all the superior staff of campus principals, Brenda Tinsley, Tamara Fisher, Cabrienna Gardner; and all the exceptional teachers, administrators, social workers, dietitians, bus drivers, volunteers and friends who commemorated the 40th annual Brazoria County Head Start Banquet. The prolific guest speaker, state Rep. Dr.

Alma A. Allen, highlighted the event with a very moving message of encouragement and enlightenment. Prominent notes of honor and graceful love to the outstanding volunteers and scholarship recipients, Audra Parson, Derrick Walton, Russella Williams, Keenan Maxie, Aude Larsen, Clara Rodriquez and Edward Acosta.

We are Brazoria County proud to have such a productive program in our county to support early learning and development, health and family well-being, and a genuine concern and commitment to our children. Through the visionary lens of the late Evelyn Wright Moore, you have captivated her spirit and vision in continuing to build strong relationships in engaging families, encouraging learning and assisting to provide career pathways in early childcare and education. It takes a “big” heart to teach “little” minds, and in educating the “minds” of our children, you have also educated their “hearts.

” Our earnest prayer is that Our Heavenly Father will continue to grant each of you favor and lift you up on higher ground as you continue to do great and mighty works in the lives of our children and their families. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.

” Psalm 127:3-4.
