A pothole-ridden road blamed for near-miss accidents involving school children is finally going to be repaired. Kingston Lane in Shoreham will be closed between Ashcroft Close and the A270 from August 19 for four days. Work will be carried out between the hours of 9.
30am and 4.30pm and will involve resurfacing the road, replacing road markings and adjusting iron work. During this time, the road will be fully closed to motorists with a diversion in place.

Parents have said the condition of the road over the past few months has put children in danger. Dipping headlights from cars as they go over the potholes misleads youngsters into thinking drivers are flashing to let them cross over.
