Pune: With a saffron scarf draped around his neck, 45-year-old Siddharth Shirole set out on yet another foot rally on Thursday evening, covering several pockets of Sangamwadi where he also visited the proposed memorial site for Lahuji Vastad Salve. Supporters of Shirole, current Shivajinagar MLA , said he had intensified his voter-outreach effort with corner meetings, bike rallies, and discussions with housing societies in the last two weeks. Son of former Pune MP Anil Shirole, Siddharth is looking for a second straight win.

"At every rally, we distribute a handout explaining the development work carried out by the BJP legislator over the past five years and his vision for the next term. Siddharth greets people and holds brief talks. He also appeals to people to submit their suggestions on which he can work in the next five years," a supporter, who was busy making arrangements for the rally at Sangamwadi, said.



The supporter further said other than the rallies and door-to-door visits, which begin around 7am every day and continue till late night, they have been reaching out to people through social media platforms. "So far, foot rallies have been held in Gokhalenagar, Khadki, and Prabhat Road." Citizens want the MLA to keep visiting all the areas frequently.
