LOVE Island fans are convinced Jessy Pott's mum "hates" Joey Essex following this year's Meet The Parents' episode. Viewers were left cringing at their televisions as Jessy's mum Julie attempted - but failed - to hide her true feelings about Joey. Once face-to-face with the former Towie star, she even gave her daughter's love interest a warning about how he is treating his ex Grace Jackson.

The Meet The Parents episode played out on Monday night and Jessy was joined in the villa by her mum Julie and dad Matthew. Joey, meanwhile, was greeted by his nan and his sister - former Towie co-star Frankie Essex. But straight away, fans clocked that Julie isn't the biggest fan of Joey.

Sitting on a day bed with her parents, Jessy excitedly asked: "What do you think?!" Gritting her teeth, Julie replied: "Yeah, lovely. Really sweet." Lightening the mood, she then tried to chuckle: "Is that it now, are you officially engaged?!" Jessy laughed and told her mum to "chill out".

Fans at home, however, were laughing for another reason. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, they were all in agreement about Julie's feelings towards her daughter's fling. One viewer wrote: "Jessy’s mum HATES Joey!" Another added: "Jessy’s mum is not a fan of Joey.

She don’t like him!" A third agreed: "Jessy’s mum DOES NOT LIKE Joey." And a fourth chimed in: "Jessy’s mum ain’t feeling Joey at all LOL." While Joey told his nan and Frankie that Jessy is "The One", Julie told Jessy that Joey "needs to stop fancying himself".

The families then came face-to-face for a group chat - and Julie gained even more respect from fans. Joey's sister wiped away tears as she told Jessy how much her brother like her, but Julie only had a stark warning for the Essex lad. She told him: "One little thing for me.

.. If you've had some kind of relationship with somebody in the past, just show them a bit of respect afterwards.

I think Grace needs a little bit of that. "That's just my feelings that you need to give her a little bit of kindness." Love Island has been hit with thousands of complaints over the years - here are the most moaned about moments Dani's tears: in 2018, Ofcom received 2,644 complaints when Dani Dyer was left in floods of tears over Jack Fincham during the Casa Amor.

Viewers felt the show had been manipulated to make it appear Jack was going to cheat, when in fact he wasn't. And poor Dani didn't learn the truth for days. Maura fury: Although she later won over the public, Maura Higgins got off to a bad start in 2019.

After arriving as a bombshell, she made a beeline for Tommy Fury - who was coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague - and tried to kiss him while straddling him on a daybed. 709 people accused her actions as 'sexual harassment'. Faye explodes: The 2021 series of Love Island remains the most complained series about yet.

4,330 complaints were made to Ofcom after Faye Winter received a postcard from Casa Amor, which appeared to show her fella Teddy Soares kissing a bombshell. But a whopping 24,763 complaints flooded in when Faye came face-to-face with Teddy again. Faye's shocking outburst even sparked a reaction from male domestic abuse charity, ManKind Inititive, who branded her 'unacceptable'.

Bish bash: The following year, the fallout from Movie Night sparked 3,617 Ofcom complaints. Fans of the show were horrified by Luca Bish's harsh reaction when Gemma Owen was shown speaking to bombshell Billy Brown. Muggy Mitch: Almost 1,000 Ofcom complaints flooded in last year in the final week of Love Island.

Viewers were unimpressed with Mitchel Taylor's treatment of Abi Moores and felt he was 'targeting' her. Fans even urged Love Island bosses to check on Abi's 'mental health and welfare'. Jessy nervously bit her nails as Joey replied: "I respect your honesty and thank you, it's been lovely meeting you both as well.

" Viewers were delighted to hear Julie's words of advice for Joey. He has been accused of "borderline bullying" his ex Grace Jackson in the villa and fans have grown tired of his nasty behaviour. Some have even threatened to report Joey to television watchdog Ofcom.

Applauding Julie, one fan said: "I’m very glad that Jessy mum told Joey to respect Grace more. What a woman!" And someone else added: "Jessy’s mum telling Joey to have some more respect for Grace? I loved that, that’s the only time he didn’t argue back.".
