The death of Shanty Town’s Director, Dimeji Abimbola, was announced on Sunday ..Nigerian director Samuel Olatunji revealed on social media.

Olatunji described the deceased as a friend and client and expressed his sorrow over Ajibola’s passing. “Dimeji Ajibola was a friend and client of mine. Hearing this news makes me very sad.



To a wonderful man, rest in peace! He commented, ” The circumstances behind the film director’s death are still unclear. Nevertheless, he was said to be unwell. Ajibola is renowned in the entertainment sector as a very innovative businessman.

Filmmaking, virtual worlds, animation, visual effects, interactive digital media, and music were all areas of expertise for him. Among the movies and television shows that Ajibola has directed are “Shanty Town,” “Slum King,” “Hoodrush,” “Ovy’s Voice,” and “Wura.” For his efforts, he has also been nominated for and won numerous awards.

“Hoodrush,” his maiden directing effort, was acknowledged as Nigeria’s first urban musical. The movie has won other awards, such as Best Supporting Actor at the AMAA Awards, Best Actor and Soundtrack at the Nollywood Movies Awards, and Best Movie at the 2012 Green Me Film Festival in Germany..
