During his recent chat with Cyrus Broacha for his podcast Cyrus Says, filmmaker Nikkhil Suresh Advani shared a nugget about one of the most memorable scenes of Bollywood’s 2001 classic Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G), where Shah Rukh Khan does a grand entry via helicopter, which is sensed by her onscreen mother Jaya Bachchan. Nikkhil Advani, who was the assistant director to K3G’s Karan Johar, stated that the Badshah of Bollywood was visibly disappointed when the scene was narrated to him. The directorial crew detailed the scene to Shah Rukh Khan, stating who he would make a helicopter entry by jumping off the chopper and, as soon as he touched the ground, how Jaya Bachchan would sense his arrival, thereby highlighting the veteran actor in the sequence.

Shah Rukh Khan plays Rahul, the son of the multi-millionaire Raichand family. Nikkhil Advani, who was also an AD for Karan Johar’s debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), revealed how Shah Rukh Khan gave the basketball scene in the movie like an action sequence and even choreographed it. SRK is even credited for the same as ‘Thrills’ in the credit rolls of the blockbuster.

Nikkhil also revealed that Shah Rukh Khan is not fond of love stories. “He just hates it.” He further revealed that “‘Dil Se’ is SRK’s favorite flick.
