Now, once again, the actor is all set to raise the excitement level of his fans with his next release, King. The actor recently confirmed his upcoming project, which will be helmed by Sujoy Ghosh. Currently, Shah Rukh is prepping for his under-production action-drama, where he essays the role of a gangster.
In an interview with Variety, SRK said that Sujoy Ghosh’s King is going to be a massy, emotional film. When Shah Rukh was asked about his next project, the actor revealed the name and said, “It’s a film called King, which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh (Kahaani) and creatively produced by Siddharth Anand, who made Pathaan. It is an action drama; it’s a Hindi film.
It’ll be interesting. I’ve been wanting to do a film like this for some time, and I really wanted to do a film like this for seven, or eight years. We just felt Sujoy would be the right choice because we wanted it to be very emotionally correct.
We are all coming together to make a cool, massy, action, emotional film.” For King, Shah Rukh will be sharing screen space with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The movie will also feature Abhishek Bachchan in a key role.
Meanwhile, SRK was recently honoured with a lifetime achievement award, the Pardo alla Carriera or Career Leopard, at the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival. Post the award ceremony, the DDLJ actor had a conversation with Giona A. Nazzaro, the artistic director of the Locarno Film Festival, where he mentioned the kind of films he wanted to do.
SRK said, “There are certain kinds of films that I want to do; maybe it’s more age-centric, and I want to try something. For 6-7 years, I’ve been thinking about it, and I mentioned it to Sujoy one day while we were sitting. He works with us at our office; he’s made some films for us.
