NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Wednesday called the Sexual assault case on a student in Anna University "cruel" and said that their main objective is to provide justice to the victim in accordance with the law. While addressing the state assembly, Stalin slammed the opposition for politicising the issue and said that they are criticising the state government even after arresting the criminal in short time. A 19-year old student in the Anna University was sexually assaulted on December 23 when the victim was targeted by an intruder while she was with a friend.
"Sexual assault on a student is cruel. Legislature members have spoken here on the issue. Except one, all have spoken here with real concern.

This government has only one intention that it will stand with the victim to get justice legally. After the crime, if the accused was not arrested immediately or if the accused was saved, government could have been blamed.
