A serial couture klepto eyed in a luxury-theft spree spanning five states was just nabbed in the Hamptons for stealing from a pair of tony shops over the holidays, authorities say. Saba Giunashvili, 33, of Brooklyn was arrested in East Hampton on Dec. 27 after committing the classic criminal blunder: returning to the scene of his crime, cops told The Post.
His bust in the epicenter of the posh town’s designer valley — featuring stores ranging from Gucci to Ralph Lauren, Henry Lehr and Zimmerman — capped a two-year sticky-fingered spree, police said. In addition to the Hamptons, Giunashvili has been arrested in Secaucus and Hackensack in New Jersey , Greenburgh in New York, Southbury in Connecticut, Chesterfield County, Va., and Elmhurst in Illinois, as well as other locations in the tri-state area, officials said.
“These are all the times he’s been caught. Imagine how many he’s gotten away with,’’ a local law-enforcement source said. The suspect came on the radar of East Hampton cops when he hit up the Louis Vuitton store at Newtown Lane and Main Street on the afternoon of Dec.
22, police said. He lifted a pair of Louis Vuitton Epi metal sunglasses, worth $590, off a clothing rack, put them in his jacket pocket and walked out without paying, they said. Five days later, he returned to the same intersection, crossed the street and entered Prada Milano, cops said.
There, he allegedly swiped a pair of Prada Symbole Acetate sunglasses, valued at $520. Already on th.
