Sagari Police Station , Navi Mumbai, was caught red-handed by the Anti corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 3.5 lakhs. The case was registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act , 1988, following a complaint filed with the Anti-Corruption Department, Mumbai Division .



The complainant, whose father was arrested in connection with a building collapse , alleged that Inspector Kadam initially demanded Rs. 12 lakh to assist in securing bail and resolving the case. Following further negotiations, the amount was reduced to Rs.

4 lakh. Despite attempts to avoid further payment, the complainant approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on October 8, 2024. Upon verification, the ACB launched an entrapment operation, during which Kadam was caught accepting Rs.

3,50,000. The police officer was immediately arrested and charged with accepting a bribe in violation of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The operation was supervised by Smt.

Sarita Bhosale , Assistant Commissioner of Police, and Shri. Sandeep Dewan , Additional Commissioner of Police, Anti-Corruption Department, Mumbai. The investigation is ongoing.
