Pune: Shrinivas Pawar, the younger brother of Ajit Pawar , said veteran politician Sharad Pawar might forgive his sibling as the head of the Pawar family and announced that the entire Pawar clan would come together to celebrate the upcoming Diwali festival in Baramati . When asked if Sharad Pawar would accept Ajit Pawar if the latter apologised to his uncle, Shrinivas said, "Sharad Pawar takes his decisions without anybody's influence. He never mixes politics with personal relations.
Pawar Saheb will never desert any family member, and I personally feel that he may forgive Ajit Dada also. He has done that in the past, and he can do it even now." After the split in NCP , the Pawar clan witnessed a division.
Ajit Pawar's family took a different path, whereas most of the other Pawar family members, including Ajit Pawar's younger brother Shrinivas' family, sided with senior Pawar. Following the Lok Sabha results, Ajit Pawar admitted that it was a mistake on his part to field his wife, Sunetra Pawar, against his cousin, Supriya Sule, in the Baramati seat. Ajit Pawar has remained undefeated from the Baramati assembly seat.
But after Sunetra was defeated in the Lok Sabha elections, he hinted in one of the rallies that he might nominate some other candidate from there in the upcoming assembly polls. Reacting to his elder brother's statement, Shrinivas said, "Ajit Pawar is known to keep his word. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what decision he takes regarding the Baramati as.
