This weekend, St. Joseph can look forward to helping the community and enjoying a few more spooky festivities. This week's edition of See St.
Joseph has all you need for a fun and fulfilling weekend. St. Joseph’s homeless population needs the community's help, and there's an opportunity to do so this Friday with the 13th annual Walk for the Homeless.
Every year, the Missouri Western State University Student social workers, Northwest Health and several others sponsor this event to raise awareness about the homeless population in St. Joseph. While the walk is free to join, participants are encouraged to buy a T-shirt.
All money collected will help provide birth certificates and IDs, help with job searches and provide for other needs for St. Joseph's homeless citizens. The walk begins at 4:30 p.
m. at Sixth and Messanie streets next to the Downtown Health Center. To register for the walk, visit the event's website at www.
stjwalkforthehomeless.org . The Den, 519 Felix St.
, is offering adults the opportunity to do their own trick or treating on Saturday, Nov. 2, with the Wine and Beer Walk. Check out what Downtown St.
Joseph has to offer by visiting dozens of businesses and having a few drinks on the way. Sip, stroll and discover shopping, bars, restaurants, entertainment and more. The event is almost sold out, so if you haven’t gotten tickets yet, be sure to call.
The walk goes from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday starting at The Den and traveling throughout Downtown.
