“And what an awesome way we get to do it, by launching the Gold Over America Tour starring the one and only Simone Biles,” Elias said. “This event kicks off what will be an amazing lineup of events Frontwave Arena will offer, including everything from concerts and comedy shows to family shows and sporting events.” More information and tickets are available at the arena’s website: www.

The 110-minute long, pop concert-style performance features “jaw-dropping athleticism and high-energy choreography with an inspirational message of hope, strength, resilience, and determination,” according to the tour’s website. The new arena will be home to the 16-time champion San Diego Sockers professional soccer team and the San Diego Clippers, the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers. The facility is designed to host a wide range of sports and entertainment events including concerts, comedy shows and community events.

Located near the intersection of Oceanside Boulevard and Rancho Del Oro Drive, it will hold more than 6,000 fans for sporting events and as many as 7,600 people for concerts and other special occasions. The complex includes a full-service restaurant, bars, concessions, a plaza and 16 luxury suites. The city-owned El Corazon property covers 465 contiguous acres bounded by Rancho Del Oro Drive on the east, El Camino Real on the west, Mesa Drive on the north and Oceanside Boulevard on the south.

The eastern end of the property near the new arena also includes the El Corazon Senior Center, which opened in 2009, and the William A. Wagner Aquatics Center, a multiple-pool, competition-quality complex that opened Aug. 21, 2021.

Also nearby, there’s an array of 22 soccer fields called the SoCal Sports Complex used for regional weekend tournaments..
